I have been summoned for an interview as a suspect — what now? +
Speak to a defence lawyer before any interview. You have the right to consult a lawyer at any time and to remain silent. What you say during the interview is in the file later and is hard to correct. Call us before the appointment — callbacks also on weekends.
Do I have to travel to Salzburg for an initial consultation? +
No. We routinely offer initial consultations by video call or phone. Files and documents can be submitted securely online. For court hearings we are of course on site.
What does criminal defence cost? +
It depends on the scope, the instance and the length of the proceedings. We discuss the fee and billing model openly at the outset — either hourly or flat rate. If you have legal expense insurance, we clarify coverage directly with your insurer.
Does attorney-client privilege really apply? +
Yes, without exception. Everything you confide in us — in conversation, by email or via upload — is protected by attorney-client privilege. This duty is stronger than many other legal duties and applies also vis-à-vis courts and authorities.
When should I appeal a judgment? +
The deadlines are short — often only a few days after service of the judgment. We examine appeal, plea of nullity or retrial and make the strategic decision together with you. Do not hesitate: every lost hour narrows the options.
